Golcha Gets New Home Guards Posting
Satish Golcha Set to Lead Delhi Home Guards: Senior IPS officer Satish Golcha has been transferred and posted as Officer on Special Duty (OSD) in the Directorate of Home Guards under the Government of NCT of Delhi. The appointment establishes a transition arrangement ahead of the retirement of the present Director General.
Golcha belongs to the 1992 AGMUT cadre and has previously held several senior positions in the Delhi Police.

Golcha to Become Director General

Singh is scheduled to retire on September 30, 2026. Following his retirement, Golcha is expected to assume charge as Director General of Home Guards from October 1, 2026.
Planned Leadership Transition
The arrangement provides a clear transition between the existing and incoming leadership of the Home Guards Directorate. Until September 30, Golcha will function as OSD, while the current DG continues in office.
From October 1, his responsibilities will formally shift to heading the Directorate as its Director General. The Delhi Police has also been directed to include Golcha in its cadre for drawing his salary against an existing post until he assumes the DG position.
Golcha’s Earlier Senior Assignments
Golcha has held several significant positions during his career in the Delhi Police. Before serving as Delhi Police Commissioner, he was the Director General of Prisons, Delhi.
He also served as Special Commissioner of Police (Law & Order), handling responsibilities associated with maintaining public order in the national capital.
His experience across policing, prison administration and law-and-order functions is relevant to his forthcoming responsibility in the Home Guards Directorate.

The Delhi Home Guards form part of the broader civil security and emergency-support framework of the national capital. Home Guards can assist the police and civil administration during emergencies, public events, disasters and other situations requiring additional personnel.
