Five Dimensions of City Performance
The Economics category considers factors such as economic size, growth, stability, GDP per capita, employment and economic diversity.
Human Capital assesses educational attainment, workforce skills and a city’s capacity to attract talent. Quality of Life focuses on well-being and urban amenities.
The Environment dimension examines environmental quality and sustainability, while Governance considers institutional strength and civic effectiveness.
Each dimension receives a score, which is combined to produce the overall city assessment. Oxford Economics also incorporates city forecasts, giving the index a forward-looking element.
