Indian Cheese Gains Global Recognition: India marked a significant milestone in the global dairy sector by winning multiple awards at the Mundial do Queijo do Brasil 2026 held in Sao Paulo. The recognition reflects the growing quality and innovation in India’s artisanal cheese industry.
The event witnessed participation from more than 30 countries, making it a highly competitive global platform. Indian cheesemakers secured 1 Super Gold, 2 Gold, and 1 Silver medal, showcasing a strong international debut.

The highest honour, Super Gold, was awarded to Eleftheria Gulmarg, a Brie-style cheese known for its creamy texture and rich flavour. This recognition places Indian cheese alongside globally established varieties.
Two Gold medals were won by Yak Churpi-Soft from Ladakh and Eleftheria Brunost. These cheeses highlight the diversity of Indian dairy traditions, ranging from Himalayan specialties to European-inspired innovations.
