India Advances Gender Equity Through UNESCO Skills Initiative: Symbiosis Skills and Professional University (SSPU) launched Asia’s first UNESCO Chair on Gender Inclusion and Skill Development. The initiative was introduced in collaboration with UNESCO to increase women’s participation in advanced technology sectors and future-oriented industries.
The launch event was inaugurated by Minister of State for Skill Development and Entrepreneurship Jayant Chaudhary during the international conference titled “Women Leading the Future of Work.” The initiative positions India as a major contributor to global gender-inclusive workforce development.

Training Success and Women Empowerment

Many participants reportedly secured jobs with competitive salary packages after completing training programs. The initiative focuses not only on education but also on improving long-term career opportunities for women.
The event also launched the “Kushal Saathi” Mentorship Programme, designed to support girls pursuing careers in STEM fields. A research compendium on gender and employment was also released during the conference.
