Andhra Pradesh Police Advances Smart Policing With AI Tools: The Andhra Pradesh Police has strengthened technology-driven policing by launching two digital initiatives in Guntur on September 22, 2026. The Centralised Drone Monitoring Portal (CDMP) and SafeStay AP application are designed to improve surveillance, field intelligence and preventive policing.

The initiatives were launched by DGP Harish Kumar Gupta in collaboration with Guntur Superintendent of Police Vakul Jindal.

Centralised Drone Monitoring Portal

The CDMP provides authorised police personnel with a unified interface to monitor live feeds from drones deployed for policing operations across Andhra Pradesh.

Instead of handling multiple independent drone feeds, officials can access them through a centralised platform, improving situational awareness and facilitating quicker assessment of incidents.

Key features include:

• Live monitoring of operational police drones
• Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
• AI-enabled monitoring and analytics
• Centralised access to drone feeds
• Real-time field-level situational awareness

The portal is intended to support faster police responses by providing officials with updated information from the ground.

SafeStay AP Tracks Accommodation Information

The SafeStay AP application focuses on accommodation-related information. It enables police authorities to access occupancy details associated with hotels and paying guest (PG) accommodations across the state.

The system is intended to improve access to accommodation information for public safety, crime prevention and emergency coordination. It can also help police authorities respond more efficiently when a safety-related situation involves a hotel or PG facility.

Technology Driven Policing

DGP Harish Kumar Gupta highlighted the increasing role of technology in improving policing and public services. Technology-based systems can support areas such as women’s safety, drug control, traffic management, investigation and preventive policing.

The broader objective is to make police services more accessible and reduce the need for citizens to visit police stations for routine services.

Strengthening Forensic Capabilities

The drone portal and SafeStay application are part of a wider technology-oriented approach by the state police. Earlier in September 2026, Andhra Pradesh Police launched 26 mobile forensic vehicles for district-level deployment.

These vehicles are intended to strengthen crime-scene evidence collection, complementing digital surveillance and information systems.

The combined use of AI, drones, digital databases and mobile forensic infrastructure reflects the growing integration of technology into modern policing and public-safety administration.
