The master plan provides for gradual expansion, enabling the airport to eventually handle 40 million passengers per year. This scalable design will allow the facility to meet rising passenger demand over the coming decades.

Key Features of the Airport

The airport has been designed to improve operational efficiency, strengthen regional connectivity, and create a world-class aviation ecosystem in northern Andhra Pradesh.

Economic Importance

The Bhogapuram International Airport is expected to become a catalyst for regional economic transformation. Improved air connectivity will attract investments in manufacturing, logistics, hospitality, and service industries across North Andhra.

The airport will also generate substantial direct and indirect employment opportunities during both construction and operational phases. Enhanced cargo facilities are expected to promote exports of agricultural products, seafood, and industrial goods from the region.

Improved connectivity is likely to boost tourism by providing easier access to Andhra Pradesh’s beaches, Buddhist heritage sites, and cultural destinations. The project is also expected to encourage aviation-related education, skill development, and research activities.
