Vaishnavi Adkar Scripts New Chapter in Indian Tennis: Vaishnavi Adkar, a 21-year-old tennis player from Pune, created history by reaching the singles final of a W100 event in Bengaluru. She became the first Indian woman since 2009 to enter a W100 or higher singles final, marking a major milestone in Indian women’s tennis.
Competing as a wildcard and ranked World No. 690, she defeated several higher-ranked players during the tournament. In the final, she faced Belgium’s Hanne Vandewinkel (World No. 124) and finished runner-up. Despite the loss, her performance was widely appreciated.
