Tamil Nadu’s Progress in Energy Efficiency: Tamil Nadu has emerged as a national leader in energy efficiency through strong policy measures and structured implementation. The State recorded 55.3% in the State Energy Efficiency Index 2024, which is the highest score across India. Leading the National Rankings

Energy audits in MSME (Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises) units have played a key role in reducing power consumption at the grassroots level. Many small industries benefited from audit subsidies that promoted efficient motors, optimized processes, and improved thermal systems. Such interventions strengthen competitiveness while reducing carbon emissions.
