He completed his post-graduation in mariculture from the Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute (CMFRI) under CUSAT and later earned a Ph.D. from the ICAR–Central Institute of Fisheries Education (CIFE), Mumbai. Apart from heading MPEDA now, he also serves as a Board Member for several marine-related bodies such as MIDCON, Seafood Park India Ltd., and the Lakshadweep Development Corporation Ltd.
