Overview of the Initiative
PM VIKAS MoU with IIT Palakkad for Minority Skilling: In October 2025, the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India, launched a key skilling initiative under the Pradhan Mantri Virasat Ka Samvardhan (PM VIKAS) scheme. Objectives of PM VIKAS

Training Programme Details
The programme will train 400 candidates from minority communities in Kerala. Specifically, 150 trainees will be skilled as Junior Chip Designers, 150 as Embedded Software Engineers, and 100 as Junior Engineers in Drone R&D. Trainees will receive full funding and stipends from the Ministry.

IIT Palakkad will implement the training and provide placement support for both employment and self-employment.
