Odisha Ranks Fifth in E Bus Adoption with Expansion Plans: Odisha has emerged as a green mobility leader in Eastern India. With 450 electric buses, the state ranks fifth in India in terms of adoption. The initiative is part of a larger national shift toward eco-friendly transportation supported by central schemes.

Odisha has surpassed states like West Bengal (391), Andhra Pradesh (238), and Jharkhand (46), highlighting its strong position in the eastern region.

Odisha’s expansion plan

The next phase aims to expand services to Sambalpur, Jharsuguda, Keonjhar, Berhampur, and Angul. The target is to cross 1,000 electric buses, ensuring sustainable urban transit.

Odisha is investing in charging stations at depots and terminals to support the growing fleet.
