Expanding IT Reach Across Tamil Nadu

Strengthening Digital Infrastructure
By establishing mini-Tidel facilities in Tiruvannamalai, Thiruporur, and Karaikudi, the State aims to boost digital infrastructure and ensure that local talent in rural and semi-urban areas can access high-quality technology jobs. The parks also promote innovation and local entrepreneurship.
This step aligns with the Tamil Nadu IT Policy 2023, which emphasizes inclusive technology growth, women’s participation, and industry-academia collaboration in emerging tech fields like AI, IoT, and cloud computing.
Operational and Upcoming Centers
Currently, Mini Tidel Parks are operational in Salem, Thanjavur, Villupuram, and Pattabiram near Avadi, hosting multiple IT and BPO firms. These centers provide a plug-and-play ecosystem, high-speed connectivity, and co-working facilities tailored for small enterprises.
Upcoming centers are being constructed in Kanyakumari, Tiruppur, Virudhunagar, Hosur, and Nagapattinam, expanding the digital network of Tamil Nadu and strengthening the State’s position as a technology-driven economy.
Static GK fact: The main TIDEL Park in Chennai is one of the largest IT parks in India, spanning over 1.28 million sq. ft, and was a model for subsequent Mini Tidel Parks.
A Step Toward Balanced Regional Growth
