Objective of the campaign
The primary aim is to improve rural healthcare accessibility and ensure quality medical services reach villages. The government focuses on making villages self-reliant in managing health issues.
The campaign also aims to reduce disease burden and improve overall health standards. It targets underserved and remote rural populations.
Focus on preventive healthcare
A major highlight of the campaign is its emphasis on preventive healthcare rather than only treatment. It includes initiatives to improve sanitation, clean drinking water, and nutrition.
The program also addresses both communicable diseases and lifestyle-related illnesses. Special attention is given to maternal health, child health, and mental well-being.
Static GK Tip: The National Health Mission (NHM) is India’s flagship program for improving healthcare delivery in rural and urban areas.
Implementation mechanism
To ensure effective execution, multi-level committees have been formed from the state level to villages. These committees will monitor progress and ensure proper implementation.
Villages will be evaluated based on health indicators and awarded the title “Arogyasampann Gaon” for achieving high standards. This creates healthy competition among villages.
People participation and impact
The initiative is designed as a people’s movement, encouraging active participation from local communities. Public involvement is essential for long-term success.
Officials believe this campaign will significantly improve health outcomes in rural Maharashtra. It also contributes to building a stronger and healthier society.
