Khelo India Para Games 2025 Concludes: Haryana Tops Medal Tally Once Again: Haryana once again cemented its status as the top-performing state in the Khelo India Para Games 2025, securing 34 gold medals out of a total of 104 medals. Their stronghold in para sports continues from the first edition in 2023. Haryana athletes excelled particularly in track and field events and para powerlifting, with stars like Manish Kumar and Lakshmi making headlines. Just one medal short of their previous record, Haryana showed consistent excellence across multiple disciplines.
Tamil Nadu and Uttar Pradesh Shine Bright
Tamil Nadu climbed to second place, improving from third in 2023, with 28 gold, 19 silver, and 27 bronze medals, totaling 74. Key performers included Khushboo Gill, Enbatamizhi S, and Keerthika Jayachandran, who broke records in athletics. Uttar Pradesh, which had finished second in 2023, settled for third place this year with 64 medals, including 23 gold. Athletes like Fatima Khatoon contributed to their medal haul in the track events.
National Records and Standout Performances
A total of 18 national records were broken in this edition. In para powerlifting, winners included Jaspreet Kaur (Punjab), Manish Kumar (Haryana), and Jhandu Kumar (Bihar). In track and field, standout athletes like Dilip Mahadu Gavit (Maharashtra) and Bhavani Munniyandi (Andaman & Nicobar Islands) showcased the growing calibre of Indian para-athletes. These performances not only raised the competitive bar but also inspired many across the nation.
Table Tennis Glory for Gujarat
On the final day, Gujarat emerged victorious in table tennis, winning a total of 21 medals, including four golds. Their stellar performance at the Indira Gandhi Indoor Stadium demonstrated the state’s growing investment in inclusive sports. Haryana followed closely with three golds, further boosting their medal tally.
