Kalinjar Hill Gains Geo Heritage Status: The Kalinjar Hill in Banda district, Uttar Pradesh was declared a National Geo-Heritage Site on 16 March 2026 by the Geological Survey of India (GSI). This recognition highlights the region’s combined geological, historical, and cultural significance.
The site lies within the Vindhya Range, a major geological formation in central India. It is also part of a proposed tourism circuit linking Kalinjar, Khajuraho, and Chitrakoot.
