Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Initiative: The Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari (JSJB) initiative was launched in 2024 to tackle India’s pressing water challenges. It emphasizes community participation as the core driver of sustainable water conservation. The program integrates government efforts with private support, aiming to create water security at the grassroots.

Recent Achievements

The Bidar district in Karnataka won the Jal Sanchay Jan Bhagidari Award under the campaign Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain. This recognition highlights how collective community efforts can transform local water ecosystems. At the national level, Telangana secured the top position in rainwater conservation, setting an example of efficient water resource management.

Objectives of JSJB

The initiative seeks to enhance groundwater recharge through rainwater harvesting, aquifer recharge, borewell recharge, and recharge shafts. The core idea is to instill a sense of ownership among citizens, ensuring long-term sustainability.
