Iron Legacy at 150 Years of Sardar Patel: Every year on October 31, India observes Rashtriya Ekta Diwas (National Unity Day) to commemorate the birth anniversary of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, the Iron Man of India. The 2025 celebration holds historic importance as it marks 150 years since Patel’s birth, honoring his unmatched contribution to India’s national integration.
Sardar Patel’s strong leadership united 565 princely states after independence, laying the foundation for a united India. His vision of “Ek Bharat, Shreshtha Bharat” continues to guide India’s socio-political fabric.

Grand Celebration at Ekta Nagar
The 2025 celebrations are centered at Ekta Nagar in Gujarat’s Narmada district, home to the world’s tallest statue — the Statue of Unity, standing at 182 meters. The venue symbolizes Unity in Diversity through cultural displays, parades, and performances that bring together people from all corners of the nation.
The Central Armed Police Forces (CAPFs), State Police, and NCC contingents will lead the grand parade, showcasing India’s security strength and discipline.
Parade and Patriotic Display
The parade will feature contingents from the BSF, CRPF, CISF, ITBP, and SSB, along with police forces from multiple states. Cavalry units, camel contingents, and martial arts teams will demonstrate India’s military discipline and traditional valor.
Adding color to the event are the BSF Camel Contingent, Gujarat Police Horse Troop, and Assam Police Motorcycle Daredevil Team.

Women Empowerment in Focus
A major highlight of the 2025 event is the Guard of Honor led by a female officer, symbolizing India’s growing recognition of women in leadership. Women from CISF and CRPF will display combat skills and martial arts performances, representing courage and equality.
Indigenous dog breeds such as the Rampur Hound and Mudhol Hound will also participate, celebrating India’s native strength and heritage.
Cultural Spectacle and Air Show
Over 900 artists, coordinated by the Ministry of Culture, will perform classical and folk dances representing India’s vast cultural landscape. The Surya Kiran Aerobatic Team of the Indian Air Force will present a breathtaking air show that reinforces the message of national pride and unity.
Bharat Parv 2025 – A Festival of Unity
Following the Unity Day celebration, Bharat Parv 2025 will be held from November 1 to 15 at Ekta Nagar. It will feature food festivals, cultural exhibitions, and art shows from across India. The event will conclude with Birsa Munda Jayanti on November 15, honoring the tribal hero who fought for India’s freedom.
