Indian Ocean Naval Symposium Cooperation Framework: The Indian Ocean Naval Symposium (IONS) is a voluntary maritime initiative aimed at enhancing cooperation among navies of the Indian Ocean Region (IOR). It provides a platform for dialogue, trust-building, and coordinated action on regional maritime challenges.
IONS promotes collaboration in areas like maritime security, disaster response, anti-piracy operations, and information sharing. It reflects the growing importance of naval diplomacy in maintaining stability in the region.

IMEX 2026 exercise in Kochi
The Indian Navy hosted the IONS Maritime Exercise (IMEX) Table Top Exercise (TTX) 2026 in Kochi, Kerala. This exercise focused on planning and coordination among participating navies through simulated maritime scenarios.
