Background of the exercise

India UAE Desert Cyclone II Military Exercise: India and the United Arab Emirates have launched the second edition of the Desert Cyclone joint military exercise. The exercise is being conducted in Abu Dhabi from December 18 to 30, 2025. It represents a steady expansion of bilateral defence cooperation between the two strategically important partners.

Participating contingents

The UAE Land Forces are represented by a similar-sized contingent from the 53 Mechanised Infantry Battalion. The equal strength of both contingents highlights the principle of balanced participation and shared operational learning.
