DPDP rules finalised
India moves ahead with DPDP rules and AI Impact Summit 2026: Union Electronics and IT Minister Ashwini Vaishnaw confirmed that the long-awaited Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) rules are ready for notification by the end of September 2025. These rules establish the framework for data privacy, ensuring citizens’ rights, responsibilities for data fiduciaries, and penalties for misuse.
The DPDP rules are the outcome of over 3,000 consultations, reflecting broad stakeholder participation. They aim to create a balanced regulatory environment where innovation and user protection go hand in hand.

India to host AI Impact Summit 2026
India will host the AI Impact Summit 2026 on 19–20 February 2026 in New Delhi. The summit will bring together global AI leaders, policymakers, and researchers to discuss the ethical, economic, and strategic aspects of Artificial Intelligence.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to inaugurate the event. The unveiling of the official summit logo signals India’s growing leadership in digital policy and emerging technologies.
