Cultural and People-to-People Exchange
The two nations’ shared Buddhist heritage was underscored through plans to link Nalanda University with Gandan Monastery. India announced the dispatch of the holy relics of Arahants Sariputra and Maudgalyayana to Mongolia in 2026. Moreover, free e-visas were announced for Mongolian citizens, boosting tourism and cultural interaction.
A set of commemorative stamps was jointly released to celebrate the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations. India also committed to sponsoring annual cultural exchanges and youth ambassador programs to deepen public bonds.
Global and Defence Cooperation
Mongolia reaffirmed support for India’s UN Security Council (UNSC) aspirations, endorsing its non-permanent seat candidature for 2028–29.
