The event will be held from 10–13 February 2026 in Nuremberg, Germany. This recognition places India at the forefront of the global organic movement.
The honour reflects India’s growing credibility as a reliable supplier of certified organic products. It also enhances India’s visibility in international organic markets.
Why BIOFACH Matters
BIOFACH is globally recognized as the most influential trade fair dedicated exclusively to organic food and agriculture. Buyers, certification agencies, policymakers, and producers from across continents participate in this exhibition.

APEDA’s Strategic Leadership
India’s participation is led by the Agricultural and Processed Food Products Export Development Authority (APEDA) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry. APEDA has promoted Indian organic products internationally for over a decade.
The 2026 edition marks a scale-up in India’s engagement. This reflects rising global demand for Indian organic rice, spices, and processed foods.
Static GK Tip: APEDA was established in 1986 through an Act of Parliament to promote agricultural exports.
India Country Pavilion Highlights
The India Country Pavilion will span 1,074 square metres, making it one of the largest national representations at the fair. It will host 67 co-exhibitors, including exporters, Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), cooperatives, laboratories, and state agencies.
Such institutional participation shows India’s coordinated approach to organic agriculture promotion. It also reflects the integration of farmers with global value chains.
Diverse Organic Showcase
India will display a wide range of organic products including rice, oilseeds, pulses, herbs, spices, cashew, turmeric, ginger, large cardamom, cinnamon, mango puree, and essential oils.
This demonstrates India’s strength across the complete organic value chain—from farm produce to value-added exports.

GI-Tagged Rice and Culinary Promotion
A key attraction will be curated food tastings featuring organic basmati rice and spices. India will also showcase five GI-tagged rice varieties—Indrayani, Navara, Gobindbhog, Red Rice, and Chak Hao (Black Rice).
These heritage varieties highlight India’s agricultural biodiversity and traditional knowledge systems.
