This design balances legal and technical expertise, ensuring fairness and reflecting the principle of cooperative federalism.

Taxpayers can file appeals until 30 June 2026, ensuring smooth adaptation to the new system, especially for MSMEs and startups.
Benefits to Economy and Taxpayers
The GSTAT provides uniform tax rulings across states, reduces legal uncertainty, and accelerates appeal resolutions. This will particularly benefit MSMEs, exporters, and startups, giving them a predictable legal framework. By streamlining tax disputes, GSTAT strengthens trust in India’s indirect taxation system.
