Gangtok Ranked 5th Safest City for Women: Gangtok has secured the 5th position in the NARI 2025 report released by the National Commission for Women (NCW). The city achieved a 70.4% safety score, which is above the national benchmark of 65%. This ranking highlights the city’s progress in ensuring a safer environment for women in urban spaces.

The NARI 2025 index measured women’s safety using multiple indicators. Other leading cities
