Centre Explores Funding Support for Community Forest Management: The Union government has initiated discussions to strengthen community-led forest management by exploring financial support mechanisms for Community Forest Resource (CFR) management committees. These committees function under the legal framework of the Forest Rights Act (FRA) and operate through village-level Gram Sabhas.

The discussions involve coordination between the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and the Ministry of Environment Forests and Climate Change. The aim is to support communities that have already been granted legal forest management rights across India.
