Space city in Tirupati
Andhra Pradesh Space City and Defence Hubs: The Andhra Pradesh government has announced the setting up of a space city in Tirupati with an investment of ₹400 crore. This will be developed in partnership with Skyroot Aerospace, a private startup founded by former ISRO scientists.
The project will focus on small satellite launches and cost-efficient launch vehicles. Tirupati has been chosen due to the presence of ISRO’s Propulsion Complex, which provides a natural advantage for integrated launch facilities.

Defence hubs in Madakasira
In addition to the space city, two defence hubs will be set up in Madakasira, with a combined investment of ₹3,000 crore. These hubs will manufacture aerospace components, defence electronics, and weapon systems.
The initiative will generate thousands of jobs for the youth and support MSMEs and global defence manufacturers. It also aims to align with India’s Defence Corridor projects, strengthening the nation’s self-reliance in critical military technology.

Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu highlighted that these projects will make Andhra Pradesh a hub for space technology and defence manufacturing. The investments will strengthen Aatmanirbhar Bharat, promote exports, and attract foreign participation.
The projects will also encourage collaboration between startups, research institutions, and manufacturing clusters, making Andhra Pradesh a global destination for aerospace and defence innovation.
