Air Marshal S Sivakumar Appointed Air Officer-in-Charge Administration: Air Marshal S Sivakumar has taken over as the new Air Officer-in-Charge Administration (AOA) at the Air Headquarters, New Delhi. This high-ranking role involves managing administrative systems and processes for the Indian Air Force (IAF).

Commissioned into service in June 1990, he has served in the Administration Branch for over three decades. His previous role was as the Director General (Administration), also at Air HQ.

A career shaped by excellence

Air Marshal Sivakumar holds an MBA in Human Resource Management from Pondicherry University and an MPhil in Defence and Strategic Studies from Osmania University. Throughout his service, he has overseen air traffic control, base management, and worked under the United Nations mission in Congo.

His contribution to the force has been acknowledged with the prestigious Vishisht Seva Medal (VSM) for distinguished service.

Jasvir Singh Mann joins Western Command as SASO

Effective June 1, 2025, Air Marshal Jasvir Singh Mann has taken charge as the Senior Air Staff Officer (SASO) of the Western Air Command, one of the IAF’s most vital formations.

Trained at the National Defence Academy, he was commissioned as a fighter pilot on December 16, 1989. Over the years, he has flown more than 3,000 hours on fighter jets, led a squadron, and served as Chief Operations Officer at key air bases.

Narmdeshwar Tiwari assumes Vice Chief role

On May 2, 2025, Air Marshal Narmdeshwar Tiwari was appointed as the new Vice Chief of the Air Staff, the second-highest position in the Indian Air Force hierarchy.

Before this elevation, he led the South Western Air Command as its Air Officer Commanding-in-Chief. His exceptional contributions have earned him some of India’s top military honours.

He received the Param Vishisht Seva Medal (PVSM) in 2025, following the Ati Vishisht Seva Medal (AVSM) in 2022 and the Vayu Sena Medal (VM) in 2008.
