Nationwide Contest for Aadhaar Mascot
Aadhaar Mascot Contest Encourages Citizen Creativity: The Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) has launched a nationwide Mascot Design Contest to find a visual ambassador representing the Aadhaar ecosystem. The contest is hosted on the MyGov platform, open to all Indian citizens until 31 October 2025. Participants — individuals or teams — can submit original designs that capture the essence of Aadhaar as a symbol of trust and digital inclusivity.
Static GK fact: UIDAI was established in 2009 under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).
Purpose of the Aadhaar Mascot
The mascot aims to make Aadhaar’s communication more relatable to people of all ages while emphasizing its values of trust, inclusivity, and technological empowerment. It will embody the identity system’s mission of providing a secure and accessible digital ID framework for every Indian citizen.
Static GK Tip: Aadhaar is the world’s largest biometric ID system, with over 1.3 billion enrollments.
Submission Guidelines
All citizens, either as individuals or teams, can take part by submitting entries through the MyGov portal. Each entry must include a name for the mascot and a concept note explaining how the design reflects Aadhaar’s principles. Designs must be original, free from copyright infringement, and aligned with the contest’s official guidelines and rules.
Entries that fail to meet originality standards or submission criteria will be disqualified. The evaluation process will consider creativity, visual appeal, relevance, and originality in representing Aadhaar’s identity.
Prize Details and Recognition
The contest carries a total prize pool of ₹1 lakh, divided as follows:
- 1st Prize: ₹50,000
- 2nd Prize: ₹30,000
- 3rd Prize: ₹20,000
Winners will also receive certificates of recognition from UIDAI. The top entry will be adopted as Aadhaar’s official mascot, to be featured in national awareness campaigns and digital outreach initiatives.
