Currently, over 150 organisations—including central and state departments, leading banks, telecom operators, and oil marketing companies—are using Aadhaar’s AI-powered face authentication system. Its integration with Android and iOS platforms has made it easily accessible to users across the country.

Boost to social welfare delivery
The technology has been instrumental in the National Social Assistance Programme (NSAP), enabling contactless identity verification for benefit disbursement. Since July, 13.66 lakh beneficiaries under NSAP have been verified using face recognition.
In the education and health sector, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has deployed this system in 850 medical institutions for faculty and staff attendance tracking. In recruitment, agencies such as the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) and Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) use it to verify candidates’ identities during examinations and hiring processes.
Multiple authentication methods
Considering all Aadhaar verification modes—biometrics, OTP, and face authentication—the total number of transactions in July 2025 reached 221 crore, showing a 3.8% year-on-year rise.
