BIMSTEC Youth Meet 2025 to Foster Regional Collaboration in Gandhinagar

South Asian Youth to Gather in Gujarat

BIMSTEC Youth Meet 2025 to Foster Regional Collaboration in Gandhinagar: From February 7 to 11, 2025, the city of Gandhinagar will host a major international event — the BIMSTEC Youth Summit 2025. Young delegates from seven member countries — India, Bangladesh, Bhutan, Myanmar, Nepal, Sri Lanka, and Thailand — will come together to explore opportunities for cooperation and leadership. The event will be formally opened on February 8 by Union Minister Dr. Mansukh Mandaviya and is being led by the Youth Affairs Department under India’s central ministry.

Young Leaders as Catalysts of Unity

With the central theme “Youth as a Bridge for Intra-BIMSTEC Exchange,” the summit will underline the importance of youth-driven diplomacy. It aims to nurture a generation of thinkers and innovators who can build regional partnerships and drive progress aligned with Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs 2030) and India’s Viksit Bharat 2047 blueprint.

Platforms for Policy and Innovation

At the core of the discussions will be the Viksit Bharat Young Leaders Dialogue, where emerging leaders will exchange ideas and showcase local development models. A key feature of the event is the Mera Yuva Bharat (MY Bharat) initiative — a government-backed platform that enables Indian youth to access leadership roles and digital training. The program represents India’s attempt to become a model for tech-enabled youth development in the BIMSTEC region.

A Journey Through Heritage and Innovation

Participants will also experience a curated tour of Gujarat’s cultural and technological landmarks. They’ll visit Dandi Kutir, a museum dedicated to the life and message of Mahatma Gandhi, and the Sabarmati Ashram, a symbol of India’s freedom movement. Additionally, tours to the Sabarmati Riverfront and GIFT City, India’s premier smart city and IFSC hub, will expose youth to models of sustainable infrastructure and economic innovation.

Shaping the Future of Regional Youth Cooperation

The summit aims to do more than foster conversation — it intends to build an enduring framework for cross-border collaboration. By uniting emerging voices from different nations, the BIMSTEC Youth Summit 2025 is laying the foundation for future policy networks, leadership exchanges, and joint development efforts that will strengthen ties across the Bay of Bengal region.
