Foundation Day initiatives
NCERT 65th Foundation Day Highlights Digital and Inclusive Learning: The National Council of Educational Research and Training (NCERT) marked its 65th Foundation Day on 1 September 2025. Several key initiatives were unveiled to strengthen foundational literacy, digital learning, and inclusivity in line with NEP 2020.

Bal Vatika TV channel
The launch of Bal Vatika TV on PM eVidya DTH Channel 35 aims to serve children aged 3–6 years. It provides interactive audio-visual content for early learning, supporting teachers, Anganwadi workers, and parents. This is a major step in extending digital learning to pre-primary education.

DIKSHA 2.0 platform
The upgraded DIKSHA 2.0 introduces AI-powered features and supports 12 Indian languages. It offers structured lessons, adaptive assessments, read-aloud, closed captioning, and text translation tools. Personalized learning and performance tracking make it a next-generation digital learning hub for both teachers and students.
PRASHAST 2.0 for inclusivity
The enhanced PRASHAST 2.0 disability screening tool ensures early identification of children with disabilities. It integrates with UDISE+, APAAR ID, and the Swavlamban Card, enabling access to inclusive educational services. This aligns with India’s goal of mainstreaming divyang learners.
Kitab Ek Padhe Anek initiative
The Kitab Ek Padhe Anek project is based on the Universal Design of Learning (UDL) principle. It provides inclusive textbooks for Classes 1 and 2, making foundational resources accessible to all children, including those with disabilities.
Additional projects
The event also showcased VR Labs in NCERT demonstration schools for immersive learning. The PM eVidya Mobile App was launched to unify multi-format content. Primers were released in Hindi, Sanskrit, Ho-Hindi, and Koya, promoting linguistic diversity. A special book on Odia heritage honored 100 iconic personalities. The PSSCIVE Vocational Education Handbook was also introduced to guide skill-based education.

Roadmap under NEP 2020
These launches reaffirm NCERT’s commitment to curriculum reforms, digital transformation, and inclusivity as envisioned in NEP 2020. Over the next five years, NCERT will continue to drive innovations under the National Curriculum Framework (NCF) and strengthen its role as India’s central academic authority.
