Tamil Nadu rolls out Nalam Kaakkum Stalin scheme for doorstep health access: On August 2, 2025, Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin flagged off an ambitious health outreach programme named the Nalam Kaakkum Stalin scheme. The inaugural function took place at the Saint Bede’s Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School campus in Santhome, Chennai. This initiative is designed to provide essential medical services at the doorstep, targeting communities with limited access to regular healthcare.

As part of the scheme, 1,256 medical camps have been launched across all 38 districts of the state. The aim is to bridge the health service gap, especially in remote and interior regions that lack sufficient healthcare infrastructure.
