Skill India Assistant boosts digital skilling access: The Skill India Assistant (SIA) is a cutting-edge AI chatbot developed by Meta in collaboration with the National Skill Development Corporation (NSDC). It is designed to streamline access to skilling and employment services across India.
Launched in July 2025, this initiative enhances the Skill India Mission by integrating technology into the delivery of vocational services.
Powered by Meta’s LLaMA model
SIA is based on Meta’s open-source Large Language Model (LLaMA). It uses conversational AI to guide users through job-linked training opportunities.
The chatbot provides customised course suggestions, shares nearby training centre details, shows job listings matched to skills, and hosts interactive quizzes for learner engagement.
